Wootton - Caldecote

After a great run from Saxon he crossed the ball into the box for Daniel to tap in. A strike from Wootton made Harrison give a great save. Caldecote came back onto the pitch confident and they continued to pressure Wootton. A great strike from Harry made it 2 - 0. A penalty for Wootton was saved by Harrison and the score remained 2 - 0. Wootton made it 2 -1 after they placed it past Harrison. A close strike from Harry after a free kick nearly made it 3 - 1, but this was shortly followed by him with a stunning free kick which floated into the top corner. A breakaway made it 3 - 2 but a straight reply from Cole made it 4 - 2.  A tough game with a well deserved win.

Caldecote v Bedford FC

A good start to the game on a lovely sunny morning with Caldecote attacking well, some great runs by George and Giles, but excellent defence from Bedford meant they just couldn’t  put it in the net. Yet again Caldecote had the ball and Saxon made a great run but with no one to pass to. The away side pushed up  well and meant some fantastic saves by Harrison. Both sides were playing well.  Well into the first half Giles shot from the left and the ball went straight into the top right hand corner, a cracking goal! 1-0. Straight away Bedford had a chance but it hit the post, leaving the ball for Saxon. Although he was bought down giving Caldecote a corner, taken by George and another fantastic goal ! 2-0. After half time Ben was brought on and an early goal from Bedford made it 2-1. Caldecote still attacked well and saw some great tackling from Jayden. Another goal from Bedford, and their tall no11 was commanding the field and the Caldecote boys just couldn’t get another goal. Harrison prevented Bedford scoring on several occasions, but their defence was strong too. Some great runs from Saxon and Cole but the match ended up in Bedfords favour 6-2. Well done boys a great performance from you all.

Clapham v Caldecote

Initial pressure from Caldecote with some good work down the left from Daniel and Harry. After a rare attack from Clapham, Saxon broke from the back, dribbled to the box forcing a save which Daniel netted from 3 yards. Caldecote quickly scored a second, with Saxon dribbling through from the back and netting from 10 yards. Harry scored a third after powering down the right and scoring at the near post from a tight angle. A goalkeeping mistake lead to a poachers goal from Daniel into an empty net. Harrison saved to his right to force a rare corner which Leon cleared, and Oliver blocked well when Clapham were clean through with only Harrison to beat. Clapham converted a well deserved penalty after Saxon took down their man in a goal mouth scramble. Harry and Cole scored again just before the break to make the half time score 6 - 1 to Caldecote. Straight from the kick off Harry scored his Hat Trick with a solo effect. During a barren spell in the second half Oliver and Jayden did some great defensive work so Clapham were kept well at bay. Giles broke down the left on numerous occasions leading to chances for Daniel and Saxon, but no goals this time. Cole scored his second from a free kick after pressure from Daniel forced a free kick just outside the box. Harry after his 4th had a 25 yard shot well saved by their keeper.  Soon after Harry got his well deserved 4th running through the defence from the centre circle to fire passed the keeper. Towards the end Giles whacked a great left foot shot, well saved by the keeper. In the last minute Harrison saved well, when Clapham were destined to score. A great game with fantastic weather and a well deserved 9- 1 win.

14th September

The U8’s saw a cracking start to the new season with a game against Langford.  The old team welcomed new players George, Oliver, Cole and Ben playing their debut match.  The game started with an early goal to Langford, this woke the team up and they pushed forward with some hard tackles and good team work. The two up front worked well together and were unlucky not to have scored several goals.  Great team work from Harry, Giles and Daniel saw the Langford defence being broken.  The first Caldecote goal from was from Giles, who intercepted a keeper kick and banged it straight back into the bottom corner of the net.  Harry after much persistence followed this up with a second goal just before the half time whistle.  In the second half Langford were again first to score, however this was the second and last goal they were to score.  Harrison made some fearless saves and Jayden and Leon worked well getting the ball back into Caldecote’s possession.  Cole scored the first goal in the second half putting the boys back in the lead. This was followed by two more goals from Giles (no 5 and 6 for Caldecote) making this his first hat trick. Well done to all the team.
