Despite extensive local advertising the Under 10s team has been unable to strengthen their squad over the last four weeks and the Club have sadly decided to pull this team from the League. Our sincere thanks are extended to the players, parents, coaches, supporters and especially John and Alex Reynolds who have all tackled the early part of the season with limited numbers but exceptional enthusiasm.

Clapham Colts 14 - Caldecote 0

A fantastic match but Caldecote were always up against it with just 6 players but what a great 6 players they are! The team battled well with our captain JP demonstrating some very fancy footwork but at halftime we were 7 – 0 down. In the second half Alfie and Ellis created a few chances at goal but to no avail. Louise and Dan defended well at the back and Connor made some great saves. Everyone fought hard against a well organised Clapham who had such a large number of players to call upon.  Well done to all, who never gave up despite playing a man short and in miserable weather. Team JP, Alfie, Ellis, Louise, Dan and Connor.

Caldecote 0 – Langford 6

A brilliant game played Caldecote. Some fantastic saves by Connor and great defending by Louise and Dan.

Ellis and Alfie making some good passes leaving Alfie two shots at goal, unfortunately without success. JP made some great tackles and at half time Caldecote was just 1-0 down. Dan saved a goal with a ball off his head. Second half ended 6-0 Langford. Well done to all players, you played superb. With only 6 players this was the best match of the season so far. Man of the Match – Alfie. Team – Ellis, Alfie, JP, Dan, Louise and Connor.

30th Sept

Caldecote 0 – Kempston West End 13

For our first match at home we were down to six players and Connor took the role of goalkeeper with some outstanding saves. Great defending by JP, Dan and Louise. We were constantly under attack and by half time we were 6-0 down.

Second half started with Ellis and Louise stopping two goals. During one of the saves Louise took a ball in the face. Captain Ellis and Alfie tirelessly battled on with Alfie making a lovely run down the pitch, unfortunately to no avail.

Match ended 13-0 down with Connor saving more goals than he let in.

Man of the match went to Louise. Well done all of you, you should be proud of yourselves.

Team – Ellis, Alfie, JP, Dan, Louise and Connor.

23rd Sept

Dunstable Colts 4  -  Caldecote 0

It was a good game against a well matched team. The team started well with Tom making some good saves, however after 15 minutes we were down 1-0. Captain Daniel and Jack played brilliantly in defence and kept much of the oppositions efforts at bay. Half time and the score had crept up to 2-0. In the second half Louise made some fantastic tackles and despite Jack, Ellis and Kai all taking chances at the gaol, Caldecote still couldn’t find the net. Despite injuries to both Tom and Kai, the team battled on and after a change in position for Tom and Jack the game ended 4-0 to Dunstable. Well done boys, a good entertaining match. Team: Captain Daniel, Jack, Tom, Ellis, Louise, Connor and Kai.

16th Sept

Under 10’s

Luton AFC 7 – Caldecote 2

A great start for the new team who played well against an evenly matched side. Caldecote kicked off and defended well, unfortunately after five minutes of play the score was 1-0. Jack and Kai defended well but it was soon 2-0 to Luton. Alfie and Ellis fought hard and gave some good runs, but another goal was conceded. Alfie soon dominated the ball, took on 3 of the opposition and scored a brilliant goal in the first half of the match. After an injury to Kai, Daniel came on and made some fantastic tackles. Towards half time, Tom took a battering and made a great save. The second half saw the boys start 5-1 down, but producing some good passes from Louise and some good defending from Connor. Alfie soon had possession again, passing to Ellis to Kai who tapped the ball in the net making it 5-2. With some fantastic goal keeping from Tom, the match ended 7-2 to Luton. Well done lads, a brilliant effort for the first match of the season. Team Captain Alfie, Ellis, Jack, Tom, Kai, Louise, Daniel and Connor.
